Dr Jeffrey Kerns

Dr. Jeffrey Kerns took over a state-rated "Good" school in the middle of a pandemic. His staff moved it to "Great." Then he went to a middle school on probation. They earned that school's first-ever "Excellent" rating. Along the way, they reached the top one percent in the world for job satisfaction and engagement, and the top five percent for growth mindset. Jeffrey will never lead with any of that. Ask him, and he hands the credit to his staff.
Sports came first. He played two collegiate sports, football and track, and went on to play arena football after college. He has spent more than 25 years in schools and on sidelines, as a coach, a teacher, and a principal. He has coached multiple conference and district champions, and a state champion. He has watched championship seasons and losing ones. He has sat with athletes after their best games and their worst. Two of those athletes were his own daughters.. Along the way he learned that the moments that shape people are rarely the loud ones. That competitive heart still beats in everything he does.
Everything he builds now grows out of a simple idea he calls Quiet Moments: See people. Value them. Support them. Trust them. Help them grow. He has poured it into books and tools for coaches, parents, and school leaders.
